ABOUT ME

I’m Bruce D. Forman, PhD, a rabbi and practicing psychologist specializing in behavioral sleep medicine. I help people reclaim restful sleep, emotional balance, and spiritual peace through the integration of modern neuroscience and timeless Jewish wisdom. I serve the unaffiliated Jewish community by officiating at life cycle events including weddings and marriage renewal ceremonies for Jewish, interfaith and same sex couples. I also officiate at baby namings, funerals and unveilings.

I completed my doctoral degree at Duke University. I was mentored by Rabbi Joseph Gelberman, z’l and by Maggid Yitzhak Buxbaum, z”l, and have ordination as both a rabbi and as a maggid.

I’ve guided people toward better sleep, better relationships, and deeper meaning. My work blends the best of behavioral sleep medicine with the spiritual teachings of Judaism – helping people rest, heal, and reconnect with what truly restores them. I’ve practiced psychology for over four decades and assist people using a variety of methods including  Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and CBT for Insomnia (CBT-I), relaxation & meditation training, hypnosis, and traumatic memory resolution.
